Cherry-time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAAAAAABB CDCDAAAAAACC EDEDAAAAAAEE

Cherries of the night are riperA
Than the cherries pluckt at noonB
Gather to your fairy piperA
When he pipes his magic tuneB
Merry merryA
Take a cherryA
Mine are sounderA
Mine are rounderA
Mine are sweeterA
For the eaterA
Under the moonB
And you'll be fairies soonB
-
In the cherry pluckt at nightC
With the dew of summer swellingD
There's a juice of pure delightC
Cool dark sweet divinely smellingD
Merry merryA
Take a cherryA
Mine are sounderA
Mine are rounderA
Mine are sweeterA
For the eaterA
In the moonlightC
And you'll be fairies quiteC
-
When I sound the fairy callE
Gather here in silent meetingD
Chin to knee on the orchard wallE
Cooled with dew and cherries eatingD
Merry merryA
Take a cherryA
Mine are sounderA
Mine are rounderA
Mine are sweeterA
For the eaterA
When the dews fallE
And you'll be fairies allE
