A Dead Boche Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCD EFEFGH

To you who'd read my songs of WarA
And only hear of blood and fameB
I'll say you've heard it said beforeA
War's Hell and if you doubt the sameB
Today I found in Mametz WoodC
A certain cure for lust of bloodD
-
Where propped against a shattered trunkE
In a great mess of things uncleanF
Sat a dead Boche he scowled and stunkE
With clothes and face a sodden greenF
Big bellied spectacled crop hairedG
Dribbling black blood from nose and beardH
