To Alfred Tennyson - 1883 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBC ABDA EFGEFG

Familiar with thy melodyA
We go debating of its powerB
As churls who hear it hour by hourB
Contemn the skylark's minstrelsyC
-
As shepherds on a Highland leaA
Think lightly of the heather flowerB
Which makes the moorland's purple dowerD
As far away as eye can seeA
-
Let churl or shepherd change his skyE
And labour in the city darkF
Where there is neither air nor roomG
How often will the exile sighE
To hear again the unwearied larkF
And see the heather's lavish bloomG
