The Tempted Soul Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA ABBA CDBCDB

Weak soul by sense still led astrayA
Why wilt thou parley with the foeB
He seeks to work thine overthrowB
And thou poor fool dost point the wayA
-
Hast thou forgotten many a dayA
When thou exulting forth didst goB
And ere the noon wert lying lowB
A broken and defenceless preyA
-
If thou wouldst live avoid his faceC
Dwell in the wilderness apartD
And gather force for vanquishingB
Ere thou returnest to his placeC
Then arm and with undaunted heartD
Give battle till he own thee kingB
