The Crown Of Years Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCA ACCA DEFDEF

Years grow and gather each a gemA
Lustrous with laughter and with tearsB
And cunning Time a crown of yearsC
Contrives for her who weareth themA
-
No chance can snatch this diademA
It trembles not with hopes or fearsC
It shines before the rose appearsC
And when the leaves forsake her stemA
-
Time sets his jewels one by oneD
Then wherefore mourn the wreaths that lieE
In attic chambers of the pastF
They withered ere the day was doneD
This coronal will never dieE
Nor shall you lose it at the lastF
