The Close Of The Session Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA ABBA CDECDE

The Session's over We must say farewellA
To these east winds and to this eastern seaB
For summer comes with swallow and with beeB
With many a flower and many a golfing swellA
-
No more the horribly discordant bellA
Shall startle slumber and all men agreeB
That whatsoever other things may beB
A cause of sorrow this at least is wellA
-
The class room shall not open wide its doorsC
Or if it does such opening will be vainD
The gown shall hang unused upon a nailE
South Street shall know us not we'll wipe the ScoresC
From our remembrance as for Mutto's LaneD
Yea even the memory of this shall failE
