A day of gladness yet will dawnA
Though when I cannot sayB
Perhaps it may be Thursday weekC
Perhaps some other dayB

When man freed from the bond of clothesD
And needing no more foodE
Shall never pull his neighbour's noseF
But be extremely goodG
-
When Love and Nobleness shall liveH
Next door to Truth and RightI
While Reverence shall rent a roomJ
Upon the second flightI
-
And wishes shall be horses thenK
And beggars shall be kingsL
And all the people shall admireM
This pleasant state of thingsL
-
But if it seems a mysteryN
And you're inclined to doubt itO
Just ask your local poet HeN
Will tell you all about itO
