When the weary night is fledA
And the morning sky is redA
Then my heart doth rise and sayB
Surely she will come to day 'C

In the golden blaze of noonD
Surely she is coming soon '-
In the twilight Will she come '-
Then my heart with fear is dumbE
-
When the night wind in the treesF
Plays its mournful melodiesF
Then I know my trust is vainG
And she will not come againH
