Farewell To A Singer. On Her Marriage Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFG

As those who hear a sweet bird singA
And love each song it sings the bestB
Grieve when they see it taking wingA
And flying to another nestB
-
We who have heard your voice so oftC
And loved it more than we can tellD
Our hearts grow sad our voices softE
Our eyes grow dim to say farewellD
-
It is not kind to leave us thusF
Yet we forgive you and combineG
Although you now bring grief to usF
To wish you joy for auld lang syneG
