A Christmas Fancy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCD EEFGGF HHIJKI LLFMNF OOAPPA

Early on Christmas DayA
Love as awake I layA
And heard the Christmas bells ring sweet and clearlyB
My heart stole through the gloomC
Into your silent roomC
And whispered to your heart I love you dearly 'D
-
There in the dark profoundE
Your heart was sleeping soundE
And dreaming some fair dream of summer weatherF
At my heart's word it wokeG
And ere the morning brokeG
They sang a Christmas carol both togetherF
-
Glory to God on highH
Stars of the morning skyH
Sing as ye sang upon the first creationI
When all the Sons of GodJ
Shouted for joy abroadK
And earth was laid upon a sure foundationI
-
Glory to God againL
Peace and goodwill to menL
And kindly feeling all the wide world overF
Where friends with joy and mirthM
Meet round the Christmas hearthN
Or dreams of home the solitary roverF
-
Glory to God True heartsO
Lo now the dark departsO
And morning on the snow clad hills grows greyA
Oh may love's dawning lightP
Kindled from loveless nightP
Shine more and more unto the perfect dayA
