To pick an item or see the retailer's face | B |
The shops were filled with endless goods | C |
And many more lay covered in canvas hoods | C |
Waiting to be brought out and to be sold | D |
Or to be put back in the shopkeeper's hold | D |
- | |
Many hawkers did throng in the passages | E |
Selling their wares with fatigued visages | E |
Often putting unreasonable prices for making gains | E |
And being countered by agitated bargains | E |
Then there were the vendors selling fish | F |
Their shops flocked with cats waiting for a dish | F |
More crowded with crows than men or women | G |
That lined up for a free lunch to gain | H |

People from all shades and walks converged | J |
And different religions and classes merged | J |
They shattered the walls of division and seperation | H |
And stood together as brothers of the same nation | H |
