The Dawning Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDDDEEEEFFGGGG GGGGGGGG

Water lilies float down a silent streamA
The watching swamphens and bank willows dreamA
At the passing of a fragrant blessingB
Brought to them by a soft wind caressingB
A nestling awakes sighs in treetops highC
The morning star almost ceases to spyC
A sweet silence breathes among the heatherD
A stillness in leaves gathered togetherD
The twilight branches a glory captureD
Held in wondrous suspense in still raptureD
In them a mystery is unravelledE
As if I had to all the stars travelledE
And listened to old sea shells still unheardE
They echo here in the song of a birdE
The many untold secrets they containF
That s better than the fall of summer rainF
In a lost wood where birds their sweet songs rangG
And the angels with pipes tenderly sangG
Here I walk in a soft rain awakingG
My soul under bright clouds' tender weepingG
My soul soft with the dew my soul drippingG
One with teardrops on leafed trees glisteningG
One with the leaves on which they are singingG
One with each branch where the leaves are sighingG
One with the free air that s all pervadingG
And I gaze to where sunlight is breakingG
High treetops are with the sky lovemakingG
And my heart s there one with bright clouds sailingG
