The Lord imputes no sin to his loved child;
His blood ever cleanses you in the light.
You, a spirit, were always undefiled;
The sin in your flesh never touched its bright.
Though in the flesh you were by sin beguiled,
Your sin was ignorance and lack of might.
Thus when the old sins of the flesh were wild,
By the cross God made them pure in his sight.
Bearing them in his body, reconciled
You to God; for in Christ, sins appeared right.
For they turned into the Lamb, meek and mild;
They shined as obedience at their height.
For Christ saw the sins core and your intent
As righteous, and showed you obedient.
