To Amarantha, That She Would Dishevel Her Hair Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE EEFG HHII JKEE LLBB MMNN

Amarantha sweet and fairA
Ah braid no more that shining hairA
As my curious hand or eyeB
Hovering round thee let it flyB
-
Let it fly as unconfinedC
As its calm ravisher the windC
Who hath left his darling th' EastD
To wanton o'er that spicy nestE
-
Every tress must be confessedE
But neatly tangled at the bestE
Like a clew of golden threadF
Most excellently ravell egrave dG
-
Do not then wind up that lightH
In ribbands and o'ercloud in nightH
Like the sun in 's early rayI
But shake your head and scatter dayI
-
See 'tis broke Within this groveJ
The bower and the walks of loveK
Weary lie we down and restE
And fan each other's panting breastE
-
Here we'll strip and cool our fireL
In cream below in milk baths higherL
And when all wells are drawn dryB
I'll drink a tear out of thine eyeB
-
Which our very joys shall leaveM
That sorrows thus we can deceiveM
Or our very sorrows weepN
That joys so ripe so little keepN
