The Rose Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEBB FFGG AABB FFHI

Sweet serene sky like flowerA
Haste to adorn her bowerA
From thy long cloudy bedB
Shoot forth thy damask headB
-
New startled blush of FloraC
The grief of pale AuroraC
Who will contest no moreD
Haste haste to strew her floorD
-
Vermilion ball that's givenE
From lip to lip in heavenE
Love's couch's coverletB
Haste haste to make her bedB
-
Dear offspring of pleased VenusF
And jolly plump SilenusF
Haste haste to deck the hairG
Of the only sweetly fairG
-
See rosy is her bowerA
Her floor is all this flowerA
Her bed a rosy nestB
By a bed of roses pressedB
-
But early as she dressesF
Why fly you her bright tressesF
Ah I have found I fear mdashH
Because her cheeks are nearI
