Strive Not, Vain Lover Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCDEEFF A GHIJKKLL

IA
-
Strive not vain lover to be fineB
Thy silk's the silk worm's and not thineB
You lessen to a fly your mistriss' thoughtC
To think it may be in a cobweb caughtD
What though her thin transparent lawnE
Thy heart in a strong net hath drawnE
Not all the arms the god of fire ere madeF
Can the soft bulwarks of nak'd love invadeF
-
IIA
-
Be truly fine then and yourself dressG
In her fair soul's immac'late glassH
Then by reflection you may have the blissI
Perhaps to see what a true fineness isJ
When all your gawderies will fitK
Those only that are poor in witK
She that a clinquant outside doth adoreL
Dotes on a gilded statue and no moreL
