Love Inthron'd Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDD ACACEEFA GHFHIIJI DKDKLMCC

Introth I do my self perswadeA
That the wilde boy is grown a manB
And all his childishnesse off laidA
E're since Lucasta did his fires fanB
H' has left his apish jigsC
And whipping hearts like gigsC
For t' other day I heard him swearD
That beauty should be crown'd in honours chairD
-
With what a true and heavenly stateA
He doth his glorious darts dispenceC
Now cleans'd from falsehood blood and hateA
And newly tipt with innocenceC
Love Justice is becomeE
And doth the cruel doomeE
Reversed is the old decreeF
Behold he sits inthron'd with majestieA
-
Inthroned in Lucasta's eyeG
He doth our faith and hearts surveyH
Then measures them by sympathyF
And each to th' others breast conveyH
Whilst to his altars nowI
The frozen vestals bowI
And strickt Diana too doth goJ
A hunting with his fear'd exchanged bowI
-
Th' imbracing seas and ambient airD
Now in his holy fires burnK
Fish couple birds and beasts in pairD
Do their own sacrifices turnK
This is a miracleL
That might religion swellM
But she that these and their god awesC
Her crowned self submits to her own lawsC
