AUSON IUSA
-
Toxica zelotypo dedit uxor maecha maritoB
Nec satis ad mortem credidit esse datumC
Miscuit argenti lethalia pondera viviD
Ut celeret certam vis geminata necemC
Ergo inter sese dum noxia pocula certantB
Cessit lethalis noxa saltuiferiE
Protinus in vacuos alvi petiere recessusA
Lubrica dejectis quae via nota cibisA
Quam pia cura Deum prodest crudelior uxorE
Sic cum fata volunt bina venena juvantB

IN ENGLISHF
-
Her jealous husband an adultresse gaveD
Cold poysons to o weak she thought for's graveD
A fatal dose of quicksilver then sheG
Mingles to hast his double destinieH
Now whilst within themselves they are at strifeD
The deadly potion yields to that of lifeD
And straight from th' hollow stomack both retreatB
To th' slippery pipes known to digested meatB
Strange care o' th' gods the murth'resse doth availI
So when fates please ev'n double poysons healJ
