You that can haply mixe your joyes with criesA
And weave white Ios with black ElegiesA
Can caroll out a dirge and in one breathB
Sing to the tune either of life or deathB
You that can weepe the gladnesse of the spheresA
And pen a hymne in stead of inke with tearesA
Here here your unproportion'd wit let fallC
To celebrate this new borne funerallC
And greete that little greatnesse which from th' wombeD
Dropt both a load to th' cradle and the tombeD
-
Bright soule teach us to warble with what feetE
Thy swathing linnen and thy winding sheetE
Weepe or shout forth that fonts solemnitieE
Which at once christn'd and buried theeF
And change our shriller passions with that soundE
First told thee into th' ayre then to the groundE
-
Ah wert thou borne for this only to callC
The King and Queen guests to your buriallC
To bid good night your day not yet begunG
And shew a setting ere a rising sunG
-
Or wouldst thou have thy life a martyrdomD
Dye in the act of thy religionG
Fit excellently innocently goodE
First sealing it with water then thy bloodE
As when on blazing wings a blest man soresA
And having past to God through fiery doresA
Straight 's roab'd with flames when the same elementE
Which was his shame proves now his ornamentE
Oh how he hast'ned death burn't to be fryedE
Kill'd twice with each delay till deifiedE
So swift hath been thy race so full of flightE
Like him condemn'd ev'n aged with a nightE
Cutting all lets with clouds as if th' hadst beenH
Like angels plum'd and borne a CherubinH
-
Or in your journey towards heav'n sayA
Tooke you the world a little in your wayA
Saw'st and dislik'st its vaine pompe then didst flyeI
Up for eternall glories to the skyeI
Like a religious ambitious oneH
Aspiredst for the everlasting crowneH
-
Ah holy traytour to your brother princeA
Rob'd of his birth right and preheminenceA
Could you ascend yon' chaire of state e're himD
And snatch from th' heire the starry diademD
Making your honours now as much unevenH
As gods on earth are lesse then saints in heav'nH
-
Triumph sing triumphs then Oh put on allC
Your richest lookes drest for this festivallC
Thoughts full of ravisht reverence with eyesA
So fixt as when a saint we canonizeA
Clap wings with Seraphins before the throneH
At this eternall coronationH
And teach your soules new mirth such as may beF
Worthy this birth day to divinityF
-
But ah these blast your feasts the jubiliesA
We send you up are sad as were our criesA
And of true joy we can expresse no moreJ
Thus crown'd then when we buried thee beforeJ
-
Princesse in heav'n forgivenes whilst weF
Resigne our office to the HIERARCHYF
