AmyntorA
Alexis ah Alexis can it beB
Though so much wet and drieA
Doth drowne our eyeC
Thou keep'st thy winged voice from meB
-
AlexisD
Amyntor a profounder sea I feareA
Hath swallow'd me where nowE
My armes do rowA
I floate i'th' ocean of a teareA
-
Lucasta weepes lest I look back and treadF
Your Watry land againeE
Amyn I'd through the raineE
Such showrs are quickly over spreadF
-
Conceive how joy after this short divorceG
Will circle her with beamesG
When like your streamesG
You shall rowle back with kinder forceG
-
And call the helping winds to vent your thoughtH
Alex Amyntor Chloris whereA
Or in what sphereA
Say may that glorious fair be soughtH
-
Amyn She's now the center of these armes e're blestI
Whence may she never moveJ
Till Time and LoveK
Haste to their everlasting restI
-
Alex Ah subtile swaine doth not my flame rise highC
As yours and burne as hotL
Am not I shotL
With the selfe same artilleryA
-
And can I breath without her air AmynE
Why thenE
From thy tempestuous earthM
Where blood and dearthM
Raigne 'stead of kings agenE
-
Wafte thy selfe over and lest storms from farA
Arise bring in our sightN
The seas delightN
Lucasta that bright northerne starA
-
Alex But as we cut the rugged deepe I feareA
The green god stops his fellO
Chariot of shellO
And smooths the maine to ravish herA
-
Amyn Oh no the prince of waters' fires are doneE
He as his empire's oldP
And rivers coldP
His queen now runs abed to th' sunE
-
But all his treasure he shall ope' that dayQ
Tritons shall sound his fleeteQ
In silver meeteQ
And to her their rich offrings payQ
-
Alex We flye Amyntor not amaz'd how sentQ
By water earth or aireA
Or if with herA
By fire ev'n thereA
I move in mine owne elementQ
