Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGHIIABBBJJKLK BMNOOKKKBB

Cord Distressed pilgrim whose dark clouded eyesA
Speak thee a martyr to love's crueltiesB
Whither awayC
Amor What pitying voice I hearD
Calls back my flying stepsE
Cord Pr'ythee draw nearF
Amor I shall but say kind swain what doth becomeG
Of a lost heart ere to ElysiumG
It wounded walksH
Cord First it does freely flyeI
Into the pleasures of a lover's eyeI
But once condemn'd to scorn it fetter'd liesA
An ever bowing slave to tyranniesB
Amor I pity its sad fate since its offenceB
Was but for love Can tears recall it thenceB
Cord O no such tears as do for pity callJ
She proudly scorns and glories at their fallJ
Amor Since neither sighs nor tears kind shepherd tellK
Will not a kiss prevailL
Cord Thou may'st as wellK
Court Eccho with a kissB
Amor Can no art moveM
A sacred violence to make her loveN
Cord O no 'tis only Destiny or FateO
Fashions our wills either to love or hateO
Amor Then captive heart since that no humane spellK
Hath power to graspe thee his farewellK
Cord FarewellK
Cho Lost hearts like lambs drove from their folds by fearsB
May back return by chance but not by tearsB
