It is finished as He hung there broken | A |
Physically beaten and bruised | B |
And that not a result of being shrewd | C |
Please excuse this gruesome picture | D |
But I have to go a little deeper | D |
As the flagrum also sunk I little deeper | D |

Ripping up the flesh of our LORD | E |
Tearing bursting bleeding as He fell to the floor | F |
Demanding again to mount to the post | G |
The cat o' nine tails is no joke | H |
whips less one | A |
That is actually more like three hundred and fifty one | A |
Steel barbed hooks attached to each end | I |
Here I am praying now for it to please end | I |

Mocking and teazing with a crown thorns | J |
Pearcing His head with blood being drawn | K |
A purple robe placed over His naked and torn flesh | L |
So that when it is dry they can rip it off and re open that flesh | L |

Beams of wood He was made to carry | M |
The estimated weight of the wood is just scary | M |

That is pure insanity | M |
Remember the lashes | J |
That gave so many gashes | J |
The skin that is broken | A |
The emotion that is broken | A |
And most of all the heart that is broken | A |

Via dolorosa Is half a mile long | N |
You can't even begin to conceive the distance in that condition | A |
But still He completed His mission | A |

inch nails driven through His hands and feet | O |
Even the thought of that makes me scream | P |
Pearcing His side with a Roman spear | Q |
Can I see hand for any volunteers | J |

Having to lift yourself up for every breath | R |
a stab in the side flesh ripped off your back and crown of thorns that Pearced His head | S |
I'm sure I would be able to smell death | R |

Now just to put you in the picture | D |
This story is only half of the picture | D |
The other half is impossible to describe | T |
And in a sense I'm glad that I don't have to try | U |

The sin of the world put onto Him | V |
Your sin my sin | W |
There He was a spotless Lamb | X |
Then for you for me He was being damned | Y |
The ultimate sacrifice | J |
Paid the highest price | J |

The full wrath of God | Z |
Was given to Him | V |
And payment was made in full for my sin | W |

Poet's note: this poem is about our debt being paid in full.
we are sinners, and and God is Holy.
our sin prevents us from being with Him
and because He us just, that sin needs to be punished.
He made a way, by sacrificing His Son Jesus to pay for that sin, so we are free.
