Philosopher Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEF GHIJKL

Philosophers are lined with eyes withinA
And being so the sage unmakes the manB
In love he cannot therefore cease his tradeC
Scarce the first blush has overspread his cheekD
He feels it introverts his learned eyeE
To catch the unconscious heart in the very actF
-
His mother died the only friend he hadG
Some tears escaped but his philosophyH
Couched like a cat sat watching close behindI
And throttled all his passion Is't not likeJ
That devil spider that devours her mateK
Scarce freed from her embracesL
