| Its owner is quite happy though | A |
| Full of joy like a vivid rainbow | A |
| I watch him laugh I cry hello | A |

| And laughs until her belly aches | C |
| The only other sound's the break | B |
| Of distant waves and birds awake | B |

| The pond is hungry interesting and deep | D |
| But he has promises to keep | D |
| After cake and lots of sleep | D |
| Sweet dreams come to him cheap | D |

| He rises from his gentle bed | E |
| With thoughts of kittens in his head | E |
| He eats his jam with lots of bread | E |
| Ready for the day ahead | E |
