'tis The Feast Of Corn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGHG IJIJ KKKK

'Tis the feast of corn 'tis the feast of breadA
On the dear scene returned to witnessed againB
So white is the light o'er the reapers shedA
Their shadows fall pink on the level grainC
-
The stalked gold drops to the whistling flightD
Of the scythes whose lightning dives deep leaps clearE
The plain labor strewn to the confines of sightD
Changes face at each instant gay and severeE
-
All pants all is effort and toil 'neath the sunF
The stolid old sun tranquil ripener of wheatG
Who works o'er our haste imperturbably onH
To swell the green grape yon turning it sweetG
-
Work on faithful sun for the bread and the wineI
Feed man with the milk of the earth and bestowJ
The frank glass wherein unconcern laughs divineI
Ye harvesters vintagers work on aglowJ
-
For from the flour's fairest and from the vine's bestK
Fruit of man's strength spread to earth's uttermostK
God gathers and reaps to His purposes blestK
The Flesh and the Blood for the chalice and hostK
