A La Promenade [english] Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC BEEB FGGF HIIH

The milky sky the hazy slender treesA
Seem smiling on the light costumes we wearB
Our gauzy floating veils that have an airB
Of wings our satins fluttering in the breezeA
-
And in the marble bowl the ripples gleamC
And through the lindens of the avenueD
The sifted golden sun comes to us blueD
And dying like the sunshine of a dreamC
-
Exquisite triflers and deceivers rareB
Tender of heart but little tied by vowsE
Deliciously we dally 'neath the boughsE
And playfully the lovers plague the fairB
-
Receiving should they overstep a pointF
A buffet from a hand absurdly smallG
At which upon a gallant knee they fallG
To kiss the little finger's littlest jointF
-
And as this is a shocking libertyH
A frigid glance rewards the daring swainI
Not quite o'erbalancing with its disdainI
The red mouth's reassuring clemencyH
