Common Things Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBCBDEDEBFGFHIHI

I like to hear of wealth and goldA
And El Doradoes in their gloryB
I like for silks and satins boldA
To sweep and rustle through a storyB
The nightingale is sweet of songC
The rare exotic smells divinelyB
And knightly men who stride alongC
The role heroic carry finelyB
But then upon the other handD
Our minds have got a way of runningE
To things that aren't quite so grandD
Which maybe we are best in shunningE
For some of us still like to seeB
The poor man in his dwelling narrowF
The hollyhock the bumblebeeG
The meadow lark and chirping sparrowF
We like the man who soars and singsH
With high and lofty inspirationI
But he who sings of common thingsH
Shall always share our admirationI
