Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEFGH IJKLMLLJ NOJPLQJR SOTUJ OV

A
-
A phantom scene barely glimmersB
The soft choirs of shadesC
Melpomene has lashed the windows of her room with satinD
Wagons stand in the black gypsy campE
The frost crackles outsideF
Everything is dishevelled people and objectsG
The burning snow crunchesH
-
-
-
Piece by piece the servants take downI
Piles of bearskin coatsJ
In the rumple flits a butterflyK
A rose is muffled in the furL
Gnats and boxes of colorful raimieM
The slight heat of the theaterL
On the street the lamps flickerL
And the heavy steam belchesJ
-
-
-
The coachmen are weary from shoutingN
And the night is pitch blackO
No matter my dear EurydiceJ
That our winter is bitterly coldP
For me my native tongue is sweeterL
Than the song of Italian speechQ
For in it the fount of foreign harpsJ
Will mysteriously prattleR
-
-
-
The pitiful sheepskin smells of smokeS
From a snow drift the street is blackO
From a glorious melodic denT
Immortal Spring flies to us so thatU
The aria eternally resoundsJ
'You will return to the green meadows '-
And the living swallow fell backO
On the burning snowV
