Good-by Now Or Pardon My Gauntlet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEEAAFGEEHHIIJG IIKK

Bring down the moon for genteel JanetA
She's too refined for this gross planetA
She wears garments and you wear clothesB
You buy stockings she purchases hoseC
She say That is correct and you say YesD
And she disrobes and you undressD
Confronted by a mouse or mooseE
You turn green she turns chartrooseE
Her speech is new minted freshly quarriedA
She has a fore head you have a foreheadA
Nor snake nor slowworm draweth nigh herF
You go to bed she doth retireG
To Janet births are blessed eventsE
And odors that you smell she scentsE
Replete she feels when her food is yummyH
Not in the stomach but the tummyH
If urged some novel step to showI
You say Like this she says Like soI
Her dear ones don't die but pass awayJ
Beneath her formal is lonjerayG
Of refinement she's a fount or fountessI
And that is why she's now a countessI
She was asking for the little girls' roomK
And a flunky though she said the earl's roomK
