The Feast Of Folly Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFG HHEE

Oh what a scene of grandeur and jestA
As the noble Lord in his opulent nestA
Decrees a feast both foul and boldB
Of excrement served on plates of goldB
-
The bootlickers in their silent guiseC
Partake in the feast with hidden eyesC
Their loyalty tested their defiance meekD
As they savor the pie with a practiced streakD
-
A masquerade of deceit and delightE
Where jesters dance in the darkest nightE
In this wicked world of waste and wealthF
The lapstick of manners reveals itselfG
-
So let us adore this feast so infrequentH
In this grand palace of undying enticementH
Where dignity falters and grace takes flightE
In the merry dance of the day and nightE
