Married To The Chaos Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEBB BBFG HHII JJBK

My marriage is a battlefieldA
Where tensions run high and never yieldA
I share my space with a crowdB
Who bring their drama like a thundercloudB
-
Cleaning habits are a war zoneC
And dietary preferences Oh how they moanC
It's like my home has become a zooD
The strangers turn my space askewD
-
Money woes are a constant strainE
Like walking through fire and feeling the painE
Boundaries They are none existentB
Their presence always persistentB
-
My marriage is a beastB
A toxic abusive feastB
The strangers are like a plagueF
A never ending destructive waveG
-
Oh how I long for some peaceH
For the chaos and drama to ceaseH
To be alone with my spouseI
And enjoy our house without any grouseI
-
But alas it's not meant to beJ
For the strangers are here you seeJ
So I'll just have to make the bestB
Of this chaotic noisy messK

Poet's note: The poem is about the difficulties of living in a marriage with intrusive family members or other people who are constantly present in the home. It speaks of the tensions that arise from different cleaning habits, dietary preferences, and money woes, and how these strangers can make the home feel like a battlefield. The poem expresses a longing for peace and quiet, but ultimately acknowledges that the strangers are here to stay.
