Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEF GH IJK L MIN L IOLP LQ IRM S

I want to erase your footprintsA
from my walls Each pillowB
is thick with your reasons OmensC
-
fill the sidewalk below my window a womanD
in a party hat clingingE
to a tin foil balloon ShadowsF
-
creep slowly across the tar someone yells StopG
and I close my eyes I can't watchH
-
as this town slowly empties leaving meI
strung between bon voyages like so many clothesJ
on a line the white handkerchiefK
-
stuck in my throat You know the way JesusL
-
rips open his shirtM
to show us his heart all flaming and thornyI
the way he points to it I'm afraidN
-
the way I'll miss you will be this obviousL
-
I have a friend who everyone warns meI
is dangerous he hidesO
bloody images of JesusL
around my house for me to findP
-
when I come home JesusL
behind the cupboard door Jesus tuckedQ
-
into the mirror He wants to save meI
but we disagree from what My version of hellR
is someone ripping open his shirtM
-
and saying Look what I did for youS
