To whose name shall I possess?
To whose bossom shall i lay?
To whose seed shall I carry?
To whose soil shall I be buried?
"love-you/">I love you",they say..
A pick up line,has it.
With me he lay but as the cock crowed,
my name he remembers not.
And as the sun reveals the dark,
Guilt creeps in with all last night's events.
To me, he was special and i gave him all of me.
Once bitten Twice shy,
Standing in the shower wishing the soap and water could wash it all away
I draw new resolutions
Standing in the mirror,I renounce my strength and beauty.
"I'm a woman,I'm Power, I'm the future!"
I will marry when I want.
I Will Marry When I Want.
Nagasha Brenda
Poet's note: This poem is about Love and Marriage. A girl who feels pressured by society to settle down but is still struggling with the evils of Lust and infatuation. Her self esteem is at stake... "I will marry when I want," she declares. She will marry when the time is right or when she finally finds her soulmate. She is no rush and the past has matured her so she decides to put herself first before society's pleas. I wrote this poem to encourage girls especially in Africa. Marriage is not all you need to feel accepted, there's more than that. Love and discover who you are, with this, second opinions won't matter.

Hiam Terhile: The poet has voiced out what many an African lady have been shy about. She's spoken the mind of the liberated women, few of which we have in Africa. The opening part of the poem contrasting with the end shows the rediscovery by the African woman, that self fulfillment does not depend on public opinion but discovery of your person and ambition. In the last stanza however, the poet's use of renounce is not at par with the flow of the main idea of the poem.
