Upon Honour. A Fragment. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDEFFGGHI

Honour I say or honest FameA
I mean the substance not the nameA
Not that light heap of tawdry waresB
Ermin Coronets and StarsC
Which often is by merit soughtD
By gold and flatt'ry oft'ner boughtE
The shade for which Ambition looksF
In Selden's or in Ashmole's booksF
But the true glory which proceedsG
Reflected bright from honest deedsG
Which we in our Own breast perceiveH
And Kings can neither take nor giveI
