The New Year's Gift To Phyllis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAABCDEEDBFBBFGHGGH

The circling months begin this dayA
To run their yearly ringB
And long breathed time which ne'er will stayA
Refits his wings and shoots awayA
It round again to bringB
Who feels the force of female eyesC
And thinks some nymph divineD
Now brings his annual sacrificeE
Some pretty toy or neat deviceE
To offer at her shrineD
But I can pay no offeringB
To show how I adoreF
Since I have but a heart to bringB
A downright foolish faithful thingB
And that you had beforeF
Yet we may give for custom sakeG
What will to both be newH
My constancy a gift I'll makeG
And in return of it will takeG
Some levity from youH
