The Flies Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFFGGHHIIJJ

Say sire of insects mighty SolA
A fly upon the chariot poleB
Cries out What blue bottle aliveC
Did ever with such fury driveC
Tell Beelzebub great Father tellD
Says th' other perch'd upon the wheelE
Did ever any mortal flyF
Raise such a cloud of dust as IF
My judgement turn'd the whole debateG
My valour sayed the sinking stateG
To talk two idle buzzing thingsH
Toss up their heads and stretch their wingsH
But let the truth to light be broughtI
This neither spoke nor th' other foughtI
No merit in their own behaviourJ
Both raised but by their party's favourJ
