Songs Set To Music: 25. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EBEB FGHG

Since Moggy I mun bid adieuA
How can I help despairingB
Let cruel Fate us still pursueA
There's nought more worth my caringB
-
'Twas she alone could calm my soulC
When racking thoughts did grieve meD
Her eyes my trouble could controlC
And into joys deceive meD
-
Farewell ye brooks no more alongE
Your banks mun I be walkingB
No more you'll hear my pipe or songE
Or pretty Moggy's talkingB
-
But I by death an end will giveF
To grief since we mun severG
For who can after parting liveH
Ought to be wretched everG
