Nell And John Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DDEF

When Nell given o'er by the doctor was dyingA
And John at the chimney stood decently cryingA
'Tis in vain said the woman to make such adoB
For to our long home we must all of us goC
-
True Nell replied John but what yet is the worstD
For us that remain the best always go firstD
Remember dear wife that I said so last yearE
When you lost your white heifer and I my brown mareF
