Let 'em Censure what care IA
The Herd of Criticks I defieB
Let the Wretches know I writeC
Regardless of their Grace or SpightC
No no the Fair the Gay the YoungD
Govern the Numbers of my SongE
All that They approve is sweetF
And All is Sense that They repeatF
Bid the warbling Nine retireG
Venus String thy Servant's LyreG
Love shall be my endless ThemeH
Pleasure shall triumph over FameI
And when these Maxims I declineJ
Apollo may Thy Fate be MineJ
May I grasp at empty PraiseK
And lose the Nymph to gain the BaysK
