Considerations - On Part Of The 88th Psalm. A College Exercise Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEE FGHHIIJK LMNOPPQQ

Heavy O Lord on my thy judgements lieA
Accursed I am while God rejects my cryA
O'erwhelm'd in darkness and despair I groanB
And every place is hell for God is goneC
O Lord arise and let thy beams controlD
Those horrid clouds that press my frighted soulD
Save the poor wanderer from eternal nightE
Thou that art the God of lightE
-
Downward I hasten to my destined placeF
There none obtain thy aid or sing thy praiseG
Soon shall I lie in death's deep ocean drown'dH
Is mercy there or sweet forgiveness foundH
O save me yet whilst on the brink I standI
Rebuke the storm and waft my soul to landI
O let her rest beneath thy wing secureJ
Thou that art the God of powerK
-
Behold the prodigal to thee I comeL
To hail my father and to seek my homeM
Nor refuge could I find nor friend abroadN
Straying in vice and destitute of GodO
O let thy terrors and my anguish endP
Be thou my refuge and be thou my friendP
Receive the son thou didst so long reproveQ
Thou that art the God of loveQ
