An Ode. The Merchant, To Secure Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDAD EFEF GHGG

The merchant to secure his treasureA
Conveys it in a borrow'd nameB
Euphelia serves to grace my measureA
But Cloe is my real flameB
-
My softest verse my darling lyreC
Upon Euphelia's toilet layD
When Cloe noted her desireA
That I should sing that I should playD
-
My lyre I tune my voice I raiseE
But with my numbers mix my sighsF
And whilst I sing Euphelia's praiseE
I fix my soul on Cloe's eyesF
-
Fair Cloe blush'd Euphelia frown'dG
I sung and gazed I play'd and trembledH
And Venus to the Loves aroundG
Remark'd how ill we all dissembledG
