An Ode Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDAD EFEF GHGG

The merchant to secure his treasureA
Conveys it in a borrowed nameB
Euphelia serves to grace my measureA
But Chloe is my real FlameB
-
My softest verse my darling lyreC
Upon Euphelia's toilet layD
When Chloe noted her desireA
That I should sing that I should playD
-
My lyre I tune my voice I raiseE
But with my numbers mix my sighsF
And whilst I sing Euphelia's praiseE
I fix my soul on Chloe's eyesF
-
Fair Chloe blush'd Euphelia frownedG
I sung and gazed I played and trembledH
And Venus to the Loves aroundG
Remarked how ill we all dissembledG
