Vignettes 09: Sonnet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDBEEBBFBF| I am unskill'd in speech my tongue is slow | A |
| The graceful courtesies of life to pay | B |
| To deck kind meanings up in trim array | B |
| Keeping the mind's soft tone words such as flow | A |
| From Complaisance when she alone inspires | C |
| And Caution with a care that never tires | D |
| Marshals each tribe of thoughts in such a way | B |
| That all are ready for their needful task | E |
| The moment the occasion comes to ask | E |
| All prompt to hear to answer and obey | B |
| When mine undisciplin'd their cause betray | B |
| By coward falterings or rebellious zeal | F |
| And Art though subtle though sublime thy sway | B |
| I doubt if thou canst rule us when we feel | F |
