Vignettes 07 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

Come Magdalen and bind my hairA
And put me on my sad arrayB
I to my father's house repairA
And hear his final doom to dayB
-
But wrap me in that cypress veilC
At first his eye I would not braveD
'Till he shall bid the mourner hailC
And knows I come from Edwin's graveD
-
I late his boast his heir his prideE
Must like a guilty vassal kneelF
I who was gallant Edwin's brideE
Must to my widow'd state appealF
-
Closely within my heart must keepG
His praise for whom that heart is riv'nH
And let each fond resentment sleepG
For I must die or be forgivenH
