To Lady Bedingfeld Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCCDDEEFFGGHHII

To whom as Fancy taking longer flightA
With folded arms upon her heart's high swellB
Floating the while in circles of delightA
And whispering to her wings a sweeter spellB
Than she has ever aim'd or dar'd beforeC
Shall I address this theme of minstrel loreC
To whom but her who loves herself to roamD
Through tales of earlier times and is at homeD
With heroes and fair dames forgotten longE
But for romance and lay and lingering songE
To whom but her whom ere my judgment knewF
Save but by intuition false from trueF
Seem'd to me wisdom goodness grace combin'dG
The ardent heart the lively active mindG
To whom but her whose friendship grows more dearH
And more assur'd for every lapsing yearH
One whom my inmost thought can worthy deemI
Of love and admiration and esteemI
