Welcome To Egypt Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA ACADCD

The Palms stood motionless as PyramidsA
Against the golden halo of the skyB
Interminable crops of wheat and ryeB
Mantled the plain with downy coverlidsA
Of silken green where little freckled kidsA
Frolicked beneath the staid maternal eyeB
And babe led buffaloes plashed trampling byB
Sprinkling cool water on their dusty lidsA
-
Spake the grave Arab as his flashing glanceA
Swept the large luminous verdure's dewy sheenC
Sedately with a bronze like countenanceA
Neh rak Sa d Lo this happy dayD
My country decks herself in sumptuous greenC
And smiling welcome Lady bids you stayD
