The Wanderer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHGH IJIJ JKJK LGLG

ON unknown paths I falter forthA
A homeless wand'rer in the worldB
Doubtful I flit across the earthC
Whither by blowing fates I'm hurledB
-
I grope about the pathless woodD
I tread along the boundless plainE
And with the wind's capricious moodF
I sink and rise upon the mainE
-
The lonely cloud within the skyG
That by conflicting gales is tornH
Sways to and fro no more than IG
Now eastward and now westward borneH
-
The crested billow on the deepI
Knows to which shore its current liesJ
The blast the realms which he must sweepI
The ant the hill to which it hiesJ
-
The stork that seeks the tropic glowsJ
It knoweth whither it is boundK
And the revolving planet knowsJ
The circle of its luminous roundK
-
But I confus d seek a wayL
In darkness here I fall I sighG
Upon a broken wing I strayL
And all my help lies in a cryG
