She Stood Against The Orient Sun Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEE GHHH IJIJ

She stood against the Orient sunA
Her face inscrutable for lightB
A myriad larks in unisonA
Sang o'er her soaring out of sightB
-
A myriad flowers around her feetC
Burst flame like from the yielding sodD
Till all the wandering airs were sweetC
With incense mounting up to GodD
-
A mighty rainbow shook inclinedE
Towards her from the OccidentF
Girdling the cloud wrack which enshrinedE
Half the light bearing firmamentE
-
Lit showers flashed golden o'er the hillsG
And trees flung silver to the breezeH
And scattering diamonds fleet foot rillsH
Fled laughingly across the leasH
-
Yea Love the skylarks laud but theeI
And writ in flowers thine awful nameJ
Spring is thy shade dread EcstasyI
And life a brand which feeds thy flameJ
