New Year's Eve Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDF

Another full orbed year hath waned to dayA
And set in the irrevocable pastB
And headlong whirled long Time's winged blastB
My fluttering rose of youth is borne awayA
Ah rose once crimson with the blood of MayA
A honeyed haunt where bees would break their fastB
I watch thy scattering petals flee aghastB
And all the flickering rose lights turning greyA
-
Poor fool of life plagued ever with thy vainC
Regrets and futile longings were the yearsD
Not cups o'erbrimming still with gall and tearsE
Let go thy puny personal joy and painC
If youth with all its brief hope disappearsD
To deathless hope we must be born againF
