Lassitude Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEAA FFGG

I laid me down beside the seaA
Endless in blue monotonyA
The clouds were anchored in the skyB
Sometimes a sail went idling byB
-
Upon the shingles on the beachC
Grey linen was spread out to bleachC
And gently with a gentle swellD
The languid ripples rose and fellD
-
A fisher boy in level lineE
Cast stone by stone into the brineE
Methought I too might do as heA
And cast my sorrows on the seaA
-
The old old sorrows in a heapF
Dropped heavily into the deepF
But with its sorrow on that dayG
My heart itself was cast awayG
